Got A 87 ZC that was missing a TW sensot (thermosensor). Showed the pic and told the shops the name ...but no one dident have it + the manual does not show it that well. Maybe some one can take a pic of the sensor or even better tell me the code thats on the sensor
Here a pic were the sensor should be ( it should be bigger then the 88-91 ones)

The one in my spare '87 D16A1 head only says "5E", I don't think this is the part number. I can't get close enough to the one in my '89 head to see what it says.
When I replaced my TW sensor, no one had a clue what I was talking about until I called it a "coolant temp sensor", then described it as the sensor that sends the coolant temp signal to the ECU. Moments later I handed them $35 (USD) and was walking out the door with the part I needed.

Well i showed a pic from the manual were it goes and told the guy that i should be the sensor that controls the Idle of the engine....should be that.
found this:http://oem.thepartsbin.com/parts/thepartsbin/wizard.jsp?year=1987&make=AC&model=INT-5D-001&category=All&part=Water%20Temp.%20Sensor&dp=true
Gone show that to the shop......they had a catalog with pics so maybe it will help

Yes, it helps control the engine idle.
The ECU reads the signal form this sensor and when the engine reaches normal operating temperature, the ECU sends a signal to close the EACV/IACV which brings the idle down to normal.
BTW, mine looks exactly like the one pictured at the top of your link.
