I stumbled into this website when i was reading one of the threads. I was looking around their wheels and tires section and found these old Enkei wheels that look sweet. The store's outside the U.S. and i was wondering if anyone knows of a hobby shop in the states that sells them. Or does anyone have them and is willing to let them go? Here's the link to the wheels:

I have three Integra's im going to build later in the summer and these Enkei's would look sweet on one of the cars. These wheels are an exact replica of the Enkei's i wanted to mount on my real car but couldnt find a set cause they were discontinued. Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.:p

I can't help you with the rims but I have ordered numerous times over the last 2-3 years from Media Mix Hobby with no problems. The in stock "add to cart" is pretty accurate for what they have available. All orders were promptly shipped and arrived to central NY within a week of being placed.

Those wheels come in three of the Tamiya Lancer WRC kits, the Evo V, VI and VII - I am sure if you post in the classifieds somebody would have a set they are willing to part with.

I think you'll have much better luck just ordering from MediaMix. The shopping experience with them is great, and they are really fast and reliable. Shipping isn't much from them, either, you probably won't find a better deal on those wheels in the US.

$23 for just the wheels and tyres or $28 for a whole Evo kit.
the choice seems simple enough for me.

You've got a big point there Drunken Monkey. Best1hobby is a few miles and minutes from my house and their EVO VII WRC is about as much as getting the wheels alone from an overseas shop and having to pay for shipping. I've never shopped from a company outside the U.S. Do they charge you a fee for exporting items from their country to the U.S.? I do know you pay to export from the U.S. If so, does this hobby shop transfer that exporting fee to its customers?

The EVO VI from Tamiya seems to have other wheels (i think their called OZ)but i did see the EVO V and VII have the Enkei wheels. MediaMix said their resin wheels are 18s. Does anyone know what size these Enkei's from the Tamiya kits are? I think the best deal is to just get the entire kit, unless someone has and is willing to let go of their set.

Thanks for helping me out guys. I appreciate it very much:p

For mail order there is no export fee, you just pay the shipping. On kits coming into the USA there is no customs duty either.

The Evo VI kit comes with both Enkei gravel style wheels and the 5-spokes you're looking for, the box art only shows the gravel wheel but the other wheels are in there. The ones in teh Tamiya kits will be 18" too, that's what rally cars run on tarmac.

FYI. Oz and Enkei are wheel manufacturers, not the style of wheels.

Thanks for the info Ray. You're making the Evo VI seem like a better deal with the choice of rims that come with the kit.

You even get the full tarmac suspension from the Evo V kit as well: Tamiya made a whole new gravel suspension for the Evo VI, but took somewhat of a shortcut and simply made new front and rear clips for the Evo V body (I believe the Evo VI is a completely different car, and larger too), so if you were so inclined, you could make a gravel Evo V or a tarmac Evo VI without any custom work at all.

The only downside is that the Evo VI doesn't have the tarmac 'slicks', but the tires from any other Tamiya tarmac kit will fit.

Does anyone know if the Tamiya Ford Focus RS WRC 2001 also have the Enkei wheels, or are those the OZ wheels that the Tamiya Peugeot 206 WRC version 2003 have?

Looks close to me. I was comparing the 1999 Focus and Evo V/VI wheels a little while ago, they are basically identical with a few slight differences in the sizes of the spokes, like a hair's width..

The Ford Focus has Oz wheels with a 4 bolt hub, the 206 has the same wheels as the Focus but using a 5 bolt hub.

The Enkei and Oz look close to the same, but there are some differences in the hubs and spoke dimensions.
