Does it have RCA jacks? Back in high school (when dinosaurs ruled the earth) people had epicenters on their car stereos. They were supposed to get more bass out of the system. I suppose they might still be made. IDK...did you google it? Search engines are our friends. :smooch:

nah no jacks what so ever
has 3 maybe 4 wires that go in to the unit and then a flat wire that has 4-5 smaller wires inside it
i am thinking it may be something to do with the Reverse gauges sense it has them and they dont work i still need to pull them out and see if theres a space for it to connect to the back of them

Why don't you trace the wires back and see where they lead? That would givce you a good indication of what it's used for (stereo, gauges, etc).

He said it's under the dash. And it's actually the cruise control box. I don't have cruise on my RS so the cable just runs from the pedal right to the throttle.

It's a good thought but you would think it would have some kind of logo on or it or something if it was an alarm.

well the only wires that come out of the box seem to be a hot wire and a ground
other then the flat wire that that isnt connected to anything
its my guess that it is for the Gauges the car has some kind of Glow Gauges these are on ebay not sure how long u can view but i'll toss it in the post for people to see what i mean
they dont light up so i am thinking this maybe the power box for the gauges

Not if it was a factory alarm.
It would be tied into a harness if it was the factory alarm, not just a hot wire and a ground with a single harness coming out of the alarm box.
Destrukt, how big of a box is it? Like 3"x2"x2"?? Cause that's about the size of my glow gauges control box.

ok so i pulled off my gauges and tracked 4 wires comming from the gauges (not factory i assume)
and from there i tracked them down to the epicenter e12-908d-6a now the epicenter has 2 wires that go in to it and then the wire from the dash itself
and then comming out of it is a flat wire that has 5 connecters at the end
all the connecters are flat with a black plastic piece there are 2 on one side then a small space for what could be a wire i guess not needed and then 3 more wires/connecter ends
i dont see any place for this to go in the car
and beings alot of people have installed reverse gauges do i need this box to run them or can i just tie them in to a different hotwire ie. the tail lights
neone know??

i'll post pics but i cant do it right now i have to go to work
but i took some so it shouldnt be a problem just need to get them on this computer they are on my Dads digi cam
i connected the wires comming out of the back of my gauges to a ground and a hot lead one that only works with the lights i dont seem to have the reverse gauges working so the guy that hooked it up must of done something wrong inside the gauges
maybe crossed some wires or something but they dont light up i really didnt want to have to pull the gauges off but it seems thats where i am going
neways i'll post those pics tonight when i get off from work

If he got cheap gauges they could have just gone to hell, I've heard of that happening before, I think I might be part of the crowd too unless mine just blew another fuse.

It should plug into the gauges somewhere, I believe that's the wires for the lights and stuff. Pull out your gauges and see if that's where it connects.

well i am not sure if he did some custom work to the gauges
my reason why i think this is
there were 4 wires comming out of the gauges from the top and bottem of the unit
each one is more or less like a speaker wire seems to be a hot and a ground
they all wire together with little connecters then they plug in to 1 black wire
Hot/Ground inside it and that come from that Black Box the E12 whatever
and then 2 wires comming from that black box i am assuming is a Hot and a Ground to plug in someplace
i dunno its a pretty confusing mess

Tha black box is the inverter for illuminating plasma gauges. Converts DC power to highvoltage AC power, I think.
One thin wire is for power.
Two/four thin wires feads the gauges.
One thick wire usually goes to some kind a switch, to adjust brightness and/or colour of the gauges.
U can NOT use the gauges without the inverter. U can probably not buy new gauges without included new inverter.

neways thx for that info it should help me get it working if i can
