Ticking sound

I have a 2002 venture. It is making a ticking sound coming from the front driver's side. It appears to be outside of the vehicle since I can hear it more when I open the window. What can this be?

Does it do it only at start up or all the time? Our van makes a ticking sound only at start up which is the valves for the ABS cycling.

If only when running, check out your tires. There might be something stuck between the threads like a pebble or metal stuff. If during idling only, then it could be the valves during warmup as the former mentioned.

Do you have an ABS light on? My van does that and I have been told that the ABS sensor on the driver's side is bad. Unfortunately the only way to replace the sensor is to replace the whole hub.
