wth = what the hell muffler hook. I don't know about these cars, it's my friend's. We noticed the muffler bouncing up and down so I took a look under there and found that the hook was still attached to the car but detached from the muffler. I was like WTH.
Does it need to be welded back on? If so, I can't weld, it would have to be a garage. How much might this little fix cost my friend?

I would say that it is a good chance that if it broke off, then the muffler itself is rotted and cannot be welded. The only option there would be to replace the muffler..

The Muffler looks fine, are you sure? It's just all around weird. It's only 2001

Without actually seeing it, I cannot be 100% sure, but if it is the original muffler it is 5 years old and it could be possible. My only other suggestion would be to take it to a local muffler shop and have them take a look at it, they should not charge you just to look and give a quote (at least i have never had to pay for anything like that).

Mine is a 2001 and it has a wrap around muffler clamp which rusts off at the top. I replaced mine myself on the ground. Tricky but I know how to do it now.

He ended up getting it replaced and fixed yesterday, he got an oil change and a replacement hook for 60. Not so bad all in all, save a new muffler.
