I found your post very interesting as using the Mc Laren/BMW engine was my first idea when I decided to build my own V12 Skyline.

As it was obviously impossible to get one, I took the closest thing available which is a 6.0 liter 48 valves V12 Mercedes Benz S Class engine.

Click on the link to take a look at the car :

the 6 litre v12 found in the mclaren f1 is formed especially from two 3 litre straight 6 from( you guessed) the M3 run in 92 to 95 before the evo model of 3.2

I seriously doubt this engine is attainable. If it were you would probably be looking at over $100,000.

It would be easier to get your hands on the M8 prototype than it would the engine by its self

Is it just me or does this seem like the most ridiculous idea ever?! First off, those engines were custom built for the F1, meaning that finding one just lying around will be damn near impossible. Even if you did, it will probably cost a veritable fortune, which begs the question as to why? You can surely find or build an engine with equal or greater power for less money, so is it simply for bragging rights? If so, that's a hell of an investment to make for a show-car.

Never mind the fact that it almost seems like a waste throwing an engine like that into an old Skyline- but that's a different story altogether.
