What engine and what tranny do you have in there? I have an S1 on mine and I think that I'd be bouncing off the rev limiter if I were to hit 220km/h. My car revs at around 4900-5000 at 130 km/h. (5th gear)

For those that are interested, the ZC's gear ratios are

1st gear 3.250
2nd gear 1.944
3rd gear 1.346
4th gear 1.033
5 speed 0.878

With a final drive of 3.888

Wheels/tyres come factory in this config/diameter: 185/60R14

I'm too lazy to work out what the speed at 8000rpm is with those ratios. BTW Emil, your top speed is defined by the gearbox @ rpm, not by the power your engine puts out. The engine gets you there, the gearbox defines the speed you get to.

Siz: your B16A/S1 ratios are:

XSi 'teg:

1st gear 3.250
2nd gear 2.052
3rd gear 1.416
4th gear 1.103
5 speed 0.906

Final drive ratio: 4.400

Factory tires on the XSi 'teg: 195/60 R14

That means you get to speed a lot more quickly than Emil will, but will not have the top end.

By comparison, the SiR's Y1 tranny is in a similar boat although with a slightly better top end (but not much).

However, I still do not see how having an ECU that will let you rev out more increases your performance to outrun a modified B16A powered EG unless your EGs have different ratios to the JDM EG6 or the Aussie EK4. I guess it depends on what terminal speed you are using.

And I did said, why I didn't reach the 230km/h sooner it's cause the road wasn't straight but it was goin up, I don't know if your car puls harder in fifth than fourth, cause mine don't personaly I think that my fifth gear is lassy(slow) but as you've seen there my km/h meter couldn't move more cause there is the end of scale and pointer I think can't go arround at least in my car...And to mention one thing to the road was wet cause it was raining 5min ago that's is why I couldn't pull much harder in 1st gear but I'll made one more DiVX on the straight road and dry so you'll see all performances of my car, this video was shot just to proof one thing 210 km/h...nothing else

So Setanta what do you want to say now I didn't understend why did you put those numbers on to tease me or what or just for knowledge cause I know where my gears max is for all of them and I think that you've put a little too much in 4th gear I said that the max speed I pulled of it 210 km/h cause I don't want my engine to blow up so I'll never try to push it more at least till I won't get some more parts for my engine and that will be soon :devil:



Belive it or not in here I have two friends one has S2000 and the other has TypeR integra and they were bouth just WOW and said that that is crazy...

So now Setanta tell me just one thing that I want to hear.

The previus rpm limit was 7300 but with new ECU thay say it's about 8600 that's why it goes till 8000 and more in 1 and 2 gear it goes more than 8000 that's why I must buy a new RPM meter I'll get it soon with all the other taches for oil temparature, presure and water and I'll also upgrade in OIL COOLER the one that is used in RALLY cars, then I'll change the pistons and polish head and all other stuff and add header if all will go by luck from AKRAPOVIC (he's doing the best exhaust for motors better than SCORPION) on e friend of mine had his headers and the car was getting some HP if I won't get AKRAPOVIC my friend that does a lot of stuff for rally will do one for me ...

Figures are there to show why the ZC has a higher top end than other Civics and Integras - it has to do with the ratios (and trust me, they are spot on based on Honda's database and mathematics).

But... I stand by my statement that while you have a higher top end, other cars with more power will get there faster (lets say hypothetically 200 km/h). If you get more power from the engine then you get there faster, it does not affect top-end speed (unless you can get more RPM and better aerodynamics on a 4th Gen). :)

All I can think of is that your VT EG Civics are slower than the ones I know of because a modified EG with a B16A wouldn't get taken by a ZC powered EF. That's just my experience though :)

Setanta I can't belive that you are saying that our b16a are slower than yours, that I tell you something in here we get all the powerfull stuff, the only integra that you could get here is 98' up and just TYPE R 190HP, then another car ACCORD TYPE R that has I think about 210 HP, then we also have new civic TYPE R 200HP we are now just waiting to get RSX TYPE R only and that'll be soon...We get all the car from England(stronger engines, all b16a.typeRs) as I know and they are directly from Japan so don't say that in Japan made b16a is slower than yours...

I was thinking that on this forum we all want to reach for the same goal to be equal or quicker than other models of honda and that we stick together and suport each other but I don't think that anymore I'm very disaponted :( In all forums they put me down becouse I have 4th gen and finally I found the forum that I thought it'll be the best for me cause I thought that in here someone would respect the work and $$$ I put into my car but it's not like that :eek: :(

Emil, I don't mean to be rude, but go buy a fucking clue.

#1 I already apologised for not checking the final drive ratio on a ZC

#2 My EF9 has 10 bhp over the EDM EE VT. Likewise the JDM EG has 170bhp compared to the Euro EG VT's 160. Aussie EK VTiR's have 160bhp too.

#3 Aussie Civics with the B16A are built in Japan to Aussie spec. The EG (Hybrids) and EK (VTiR) are damn quick, so quick that even with a weight penalty they are as fast as my JDM EF. The engines are often detuned for Europe due to shit fuel (sorry, but it's true - they detune them to a lesser extent for our market too as our fuel quality doesn't match Japan's).

Please re-read everything that I have written, then rethink your little dummy spit about someone questioning your car. Initially in the other thread I simply asked your final drive ratio to hit 210 in 4th. No response. Then you post some stuff about how you can smoke cars with 160bhp/280bhp. Then we get a clarification about how you can get 280bhp cars in your country - fine, simple misinterpretation. Interestingly enough, others questioned this too but you seem to have fixated on me.

Strangely enough, I haven't criticised your car once - simply the idea of an ECU making a car develop more power to the number of 30bhp to out gun a 160bhp car. Logically, either your car is making huge power with this mod or the other car is running like a P.O.S.

If you can't deal with this, I don't give a flying fuck. I've tried to be nice and retract an error nicely yet you seem to be of the impression I'm slagging your ride. That's completely wrong. Lighten up and deal with it.

(BTW, cars you get in Europe? Care-factor = 0 ).

I didn't know that yours had 10HP more than ours, nobody mention that, cause with all folks that I talk they say that it has 160HP, aren't there two engins for B16A one is b16a1 and the other is b16a2(those I think are in civics 96-99' at least in our place) do bouth engins have more HP ???

But I always said that I smoked 160HP one not 170HP, but nothing to worry I'll shot a video of teg TypeR and mine and we'll see how it'll go and then you can compare it cause teg in our place and your place has 190HP is that right...

Oh yeah by the way now my time 0-60 mph is under 8s I must test it what's the time now, but on video is 8s( I couldn't push 1 gear and 2 max, cause the road was wet)

What I'll try is to be somewhere arround 7s or less no matter what it needs to be done :devil:

I hope that you don't think that that is a B16A engine cause it's not it's a D16A9 (originally had 130HP) and after that video I put in the racing header and then I got that speed a lot faster and that I mention that while I was trying to get my "magic" 7500rpm in fifth gear I blow up my engine :( :( :( But I can garanty that I was goin' 230km/h and more cause after my speedometer was turned over I was just waching how the rpms were rising and the highest rpm that I got was 7300rpm maybe a little more in fifth gear (on autometer tachometer)

But now tunned B16A2 will go in :D

It's aD16A9 engine but everytime I mention that engine to Americans(I hope that Isaid that right) they all say it to me that that is ZC engine so that's why I said it's a ZC engine, but I'm still saying to everyone that it's a D16A9(130HP)engine if anyone ask me...

I wrote that down just becose so many peopel said that that engine is yours ZC, so I don't know now where I stand so decide it people what type of engine is that ????

But I won't have any problems with that engine cause I'm SWAPING in a B16 I hope that anyone will be happy when I'll say I have a B16 engine in and then there won't be any complication!!!

hey i have a DOHC ZC (D16A9) with a 89integra ecu (PG7) and a DX 5speed tranny and my 4th gear at redline will also do about 110-120mph if i shift it right in 4th gear its a pretty fast engine and the gears in the dx tranny and LONG and the ZC pulls them well

BTW in UK the MOST ZC's have ZC on the block like we DO but they say D16A8/9 (depending on model EE K KG ect...) they say the block # and the D16A8/9 and some of them say D16A6/7 (SOHC ZC) but some say it on the block in the UK since ZC is the jap designation NOT the D16A8/9 thats a UK and possibly aussie.. hope that clears up the confusion about emil engine....

Dude...a ZC is a D-series motor.. They stamp ZC on the block, but the block is basically the same as a US Si motor (d16a6) - the head and intake manifold is for sure different, making the 20+ HP difference. The d16a9 is the European version of the JDM ZC, but as far as I know, they are identical. I used an '88 CRX d16a9 Honda manual to rebuild my JDM ZC motor.

More in the bottom end, less in the top end of the RPMs unless you are prepared to put the boot right in with the B16A, the ZC builds its power curve a lot lower down although torque is almost as good as the B16A.

The B16A gearboxes will not give you as good top speed, comparing the ratios will show you why, but will get you off the mark quickly. The gearboxes were designed with each engine's characteristics in mind.

Having run against CRXs in Australia (all were fitted with the ZC), I can still outrun them on the second gear change - them modified and me stock standard and carrying 100kilos more weight than them. Right up until I hit 180 and the speed limiter cuts in - DOH!

With that Ba16A2 engine I have big plans :D But we'll see if I'll reach them...

The last drag I had with that engine was against the 4th gen VTEC civic (150HP) I must admit that even if they mesured me 163HP I had problems with that civic :eek: cause my rpm limit was somewhere arround 8000rpm and his is 8400-8500rpm so that is alot, it was very hard to keep up with it (civic VTEC) cause when I shift in next gear he had 500rpm left so he could change gear later and there I lost a lot...

So we were basiclly side by side till the end of drag!!!

But with my new engine and all the mods I'm planing to do I hope that I'll smoke even ITR and later with some turbo help even S2000, big plans for my next three years :D , but till the end of this year I'll put in tunned B16(enough to smoke ITR) and then save money for DRAG turbo :p

Alright setanta, you know alot about this stuff but, ok gear ratio's on the tranny are calculated using mathematical formulas. The engine revolutions are measured at the crank, crank's connected to the flywheel, clutch contacts the flywheel, is there some way that there it some revloutions lost there in the change from the size of the crank to the size of the flywheel, ok i think I'm wrong nevermind.

My STD does 105 in third gear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ummm... well actually, I just pulled the figures straight from Honda's website instead and then applied final drive ratios to it. Easier than trying to use much else - but if you look at my gear top speeds and compare 'em to emils plus against VTiR 'tegs, other Civics etc... you'll see I'm right :finger: :devil:

Shit it almost past one year since I blew my engine...and I still didn't fully build my B16A2 :0(
I hope that next month it'll be in car and runin with full power cause this month the engine is going to be build and then the hardest part of them all wireing it...I'l prolly put the 6th gen VTI tacho in cause the one that I have now has cable speedo and the new one has electronic one...
So when I'll put my new monster in I'll post new video so we'll see if there is any improve in times and speed...
