Plugs and wires

I recently found myself wanting to get my 2k tibby a tune up, just bought the car 3 weeks ago, still trying to make it worth the money i'm putting into it, when a buddy of mine told me to just get a tune up and it should run like new. After i compared some prices the 130-160 some places wanted for that little amount of work i said fuck it i'll do it myself. So i went and bought some Bosh Platinum +4 plugs and some NGK 8.5mm wires. I was wondering if since my tibby stock comes with 7mm wires if the 8.5mm wires will just be slowing me down or will they give me a boost like the guy at the store said it would. I know it wont be that big a difference but will it at least be helping me or slowing me down?

The wires will work fine, but I'd take those Bosch plugs back and get NGK or Denso. The Bosch plugs suck, and the +4s are just a joke. The stock NGK plugs are a BKR5ES, and they aren't a platinum plug.
