Does anyone have any insight on why my power window works only some of the time, then stops, after which I must wait several hours for it to work again? 2000 Continental pass rear window. Any thoughts or remedies??

No insight here :)
The electrical geniuses here would most likely have you rule out the switch panels first, then the motor itself.

I know of one guy in Arizona that had the same problem, he opened up the master switch at the drivers door and couldn't make heads or tails of it's workings. He took a chance and replaced the switch, no problems after that.

Thanks. The switch works. I hear it clicking. After the motor rests for awhile, it works as well, just extrtemely slow. I thought maybe the motor, but then a motor either works or it doesn't.Very Puzzling.

Well, first i would check the fuse, then the wiring to the motor, then the motor itself. If that doesn't work, and you wanna ask some Conti pro's www.lincolnsonline.com will have some answers for you

probably two things happening. The regulator is gummed up and draging
and this is overloading the motor. Open the door up and work on that
problem. The motor should be replace as it will be unreliable and amy leave
you hung with a window down and rain on its way ! What happens is the
brushes in the motor beaome sticky in their carrires and when they cool you
get just enough pressure on the comutator to make the motor kinda work
till it gets warm. Thus the cycle of work/no work. If the regulator
can be cleaned up and lubes and the pivot points are not worn out
then do so and lube the tracks and install a new motor. Should
fix you up. Phrawg
