can a 2 channel amp power 2 subs?

hi , iwas looking for an amp for my car and after looking for a little bit i found some sites that said that 2 channel amps only have power a sub if it is bridged but i want to hook up 2 subs to my amp

Any amp can power as many speakers as you want, you just have to wire them in a way that will make the amp happy (and any power the amp makes will be split among the speakers).

I'm thinking you didn't quite understand what the webpages were trying to tell you.
Depending on the amp, you can bridge the speakers to get the most power. You can still do this with 2 speakers. Or you can use both channels (one per speaker).
look at the specs of the amp, make sure it can be bridged, see what ohm load it can handle bridged and how many watts it will put out, and also check the same for stereo mode.
