95 only for the 2Gs, and the later 95s don't seem to have come with them (like mine). Tranny type doesn't matter, only difference between AWD and FWD is the top speed limiter at about 130 (due to lower rated stock tires on FWDs)

the eprom ECU, and I'm pretty sure they only came in 95. Whether manual/auto matters im not sure.

eprom ecu...

so if I have a 91 block it doesnt matter...I still need a 2g eprom ecu (a 1g eprom ecu will not work then...correct?)

this is obviously for dsmlink...and I know I have seen ebay auctions for 1g eprom ecu's and 2g eprom ecu's and I dont understand why a 1g ecu wouldnt work with a 1g motor

The ECU has to match the sensors and wiring harness, not the block ;) People have run 2G ECUs in 1Gs (before 1g DSMlink existed it was the only option), but just like me running a 2g ECU in an EVO, it requires rewiring the ECU harness to work, and swapping some things to make the ECU happy. It's a mess, and I don't recomend it.

Well the wiring is different so you'd probably have to swap the whole wire harness. 1g's are obd I and 2g's are obd II. I'm sure it's possible just not worth it, nor is there any reason to do it.

EDIT: damn i was too slow, damn spider solitare!!

The going rate among DSMers is 200-250 all day long. They are in short supply, and high demand.

I just picked up a 95 Eprom ECU from St Paul for $225 that is socketed and has a "copy" of dsmlink chipped in it already. Works just like anyother dsmlink chip. All I was looking for is an extra computer and I guess I got a little extra with it! :D

Are you going to use it for DSMlink? I wouldn't use the "copy" of the chip to run DSMlink. If you're paying all that money for DSMlink, trying to take shortcuts just make things harder.
