Well I am torn between two cars. I recently got rid of my 99 grand am, and I am in the market for a fuel efficient coupe. Two cars I have had a lot of interest is the cobalt ls and the hyundai gs 4 cyclinder. Both look cool, but I am used to speed. My grand am had around 185 horses, and the question I am asking is which of the cars is better? Which stock would win, the cobalt with 8 more horses or the tiburon with the good low end torque? please give me some input.

I'm not sure which would win in a race. I looked at the Cobalt SS before I got my Tib. For me, the Tib is just a lot more practical. The Cobalt has a big trunk, but a tiny mail-slot lid to get into it. The Tib has the hatch, and is much easier to get in/out of.

Bottom line is you just have to look at both, drive both, and see what you feel. Also, consider what your plans are for the future. The Tib has a muuuuch better warranty, but resale on the Cobalt will probably be slightly better.

well if you want something for speed, get the cobalt supercharged....

if you want something for practicality and bang for your buck, go with the tiburon.

the cobalt (non supercharged) get's better gas mileage than the tib

the cobalt (heaven forbid me say this) (coupe) looks better than the 03+ tib
(i love the baby corvette backend)

the tiburon's have a lesser aftermarket scene than the cobalt, but how many cobalts are you going to see sooped up compared to tiburons? if you would rather walk with the pack... go cobalt. if you want to truly create something awesome with less resources and want a good challenge.. go tib!

Me, i love the 2nd gens more than the 3rds..... but that's just my opinion
