I bought a 1998 Grand am gt and swapped the locked up 2.4 with another out of an '01 cavalier- Could've replaced the crank bearings, but the engine had high miles on it and anyone could tell it had been treated badly- so I went ahead and did the swap myself. Many items had to be swapped to make the '01 2.4 work. One of the one's I can't figure out is the knock sensor- The '01 2.4 has a two wire knock sensor; but the '98 had a one wire sensor. Can't swap out the two because of different size holes in the block. Can anyone tell me how to adapt the two wire sensor to hook up the same way as the one wire sensor did?

you will have to use the 98 knock sensor. drill in tap the hole to fit the sensor or weld on a bung. But the 99+ sensor will be no good.

Also there injectors are different, you will need to run the 98 ones, and obviously run the EGR off the 98.
