still cant decide on a cam!!!

well after some research ive decided on a proper rebuildk it for an 83 z28. its pretty much flat top pistons and stock everything else. however i still cannot decide on a cam.

ive narrowed it down to 3 mild cams. i wanna keep them mild cuz the automatic trans. so please tell me which one u suggest and tell me if u see a prob w/ any of them. thnx

the one im considering most seriously is the one w/ a powerband from 1300-5600 rpms i believe.

with stock parts you won't see much a difference between any of these cams. i would go with the CCA-12-238-2 as you were thinking. the operating range is starts at 1300 which is good considering the time you'll be on the converter and it has the highest lift. (I would be tempted to go with the CCA-12-234-2 because of the lower power band, but the durations are shorter which will limit you if you plan on adding bolt-ons to the engine).

if you are going to build it once and be done with it (with those stock parts) go with the CCA-12-234-2. you'll have better low end torque. if you plan on adding intake and exhaust later, go with the first choice.

but like I said... there really isn't a huge difference in these cams.
