Hazard Lights work....Right side turn doesn't

I'm having an issue with an 2001 Intrigue.

When the hazard button flasher is pushed the lights flash on all four corners. However when the right turn signal is activated the flasher relay inside the car clicks at double speed, but no light is illuminated in the cluster.

The left turn signal works normal as expected.

Since all the lights flash when the flashers are activated I don't suspect bulbs. From my other reading on here I'm suspecting the "Turn Signal Flasher" (Part Number: 10401280) but I wanted to check and see if anyone could confirm or rule out my assumptions before I order and install the part.

Any help or comments are apprecitated.

check if your dayight runnig lights works. It uses the turn signal. My guess it is out. You'll need to replace the bulb at the very least. many have experienced a problem with the turn signal socket (myself included). whe nyou replace the bulb take a look at the socket to see if there is any "burned" residue in the socket where the bulb connects. If there is, you also need to replace the socket. You can get it at any GM dealership or ordered it online (cheaper way to go). it will take you five minutes to replace it.

But wouldn't my bulbs be good if they flash when the hazards are activated?

Simple test. Turn the car on and activate the right turn signal. Get out of the car and see if both the front and back turn signals are flashing. My guess is one of the bulbs is out. Based on everything I have read about the Intrigue, I would suspect your front turn signal light bulb is out (Yes, I have experienced this). If not, then it could very well be something with the lever or the relay.

I always try to eliminate the easiest solution first. this is something you can do yourself in 5 minutes.

Hey there,

My car is doing the exact same thing, except that it is the left signals that are the problem.

The problem isn't consisant with mine. It seems like it acts up more on really warm days than on cooler days.

But same symptoms...The DRL's work fine and the hazards work too. So that makes me think that its not the bulbs or the wiring, but maybe its the hazard switch assembly malfunctioning (as some others have said in past threads).

When I was having the problems with my right turn signal, here's a piece of advice someone gave me:

"Try fiddling with the hazard switch several times and see if there is a difference. There is several contacts in the Haz switch and one may be sticking for the right side.

Do all signals work correctly on haz mode?
Does the rear signals flash correctly when the problem is occuring?

Have you checked that there is no corrision / oxidization(possible short) on the socket base and in the plug connections to the headlamp assembly?
Are the replacement bulbs that you are using the same identical number that was the original?"

My problem was the corrosion in the right turn signal socket. I replaced the socket (five minutes) and all has been fine. As you can see there could be an issue with the turn signal assembly as well.
