Here is the deal I have a 91 civic Dx that I have swaped a B16A1 if I remember correctly. It was a couple years ago so I may be off a little on the A1 part. The problem I am having is around the 4000 - 5500 RPM range the car hasa very bad miss to it. only in this range though. I have change the spark plugs, wires, rotor, I am also running an MSD cap and coil. I have changes the fuel filter, injectors, and several other item's. This problem started happening shortly after a visit to the drag strip. I neglected to mention that I also run a Zex 65 shot with a set of ITR cams. The car pulls great except in the range mentioned. If you have any information it would be very helpful.

Thanks Leck

get rid of that msd coil first of all.

What's the problem with the coil? Below 4000 it does alright before you get into it, and after 5000 it does alright. After I let off the pedal, and go back to cruising speed, it wants to stumble on its face. Any details would be appreciated.

msd ignitions on hondas are known to break up in higher rpm's. stock honda ignitions are good for 400+ hp.

Ok we have taken out the MSD, and replaced the entire VTEC assembly, along with unhooking the V-ACF2 and wiring up straight to the ECU. The ECU is a PR3 , we have found that we are having the codes 1,2,& 41. We know that the 1 and 41 are O2 but we can not find out anything about the 2. The car does good in first gear and second, but when we changed to third it started to studder again(granted we are giving the car nine kinds of crap). When we let the car get warmed up a little more it would start to studder in all gears and also as we are starting to get back off the gas.

I've never heard of a code 2. I think you should recheck that. It does two quick blinks?

Fix the o2 sensor problem. You do atleast have the primary 02 wired in right? The PR3 does look for 2 o2 sensors also. Basically your computer is saying it isn't sensing either o2 sensor, which is a problem...that's the main sensor it uses to determine air/fuel ratio.
Also try retarding/advancing your distributor to see if the sputtering reduces, increases, or moves to a different rpm range, then get back to me.

the CEL will only come on if its a major problem to the engine.

just got the code from a pr3 code list.
it's only on the pr3's pw0's. It's for the secondary 02 sensor (pin c8).

Yuppers, 1 and 2 are O2 sensors, how in the hell are you getting a 41..thats for a heated oxygen sensor, that these cars dont have..
