pcv valve change on 2002 4.0 v6

I believe I have found the pcv,on drivers side,end of valve cover next to fire wall. I can pull the hose off,but cannot pull the valve out. Is there anything different or unusual in changing the valve ?

Yes, the PCV valve on that vehicle actually sort of threads in. If you turn it a quarter or half turn counter-clockwise and then pull it out, it should come right out. Hope this helps. MM.

thank you for your reply..this pcv valve must be a dealer item only,no other parts suppliers ,including NAPA list this,as available, or the part they have is wrong..This valve is plastic,has a o ring.and grooves in the side of the valve,turn almost one -half turn ccw to remove and cw to install,list for 16.00 at dealer but I paid 6.22 at a local Ford dealer..:smokin:
