Put an engine in today.

Today i put my brother's (his name on here is ted_ex) engine in. The car has been apart since 9/04!! We repainted the car and rebuilt the engine it took so long due to many problems including having the wrong paint/reducers so we had to completely strip the car (i say strip because the paint was tacky so we had to use a chemical strippers) Anyway i am just happy we'll have the car running fairly soon. Oh and thanks for the help tonight aaron, the engine is really in now :wink: .

Sweetness dude, I remember when you primered it. Where is ted_ex anyway? He hasnt posted in like 8 months. You two should bring him up if you guys come up to the MN meet.

He's been into 240's lately, he's in the process of buying part to turbo his. He has basically everything but the turbo. I'll see if he wants to go the the meet too.

Funny part about his car being almost done: We have 4 DSMS but there has been a total of 6 between the two houses, not one time has their been 3 running at the same time... I think our record was 2 dsms running at the same time for like 2-3 weeks. lol Ted's car is almost done, Ell is still waiting for his stroker kit, and my car is running =O, IM sure as soon as ted's car starts, my timing belt will snap.

That's just like me, I have 3 DSM's and the most that has ever run was 1, and it was for like 2 weeks max. Now all 3 of them just sit, and I might be aqcuiring another on thursday. God I'm a DSM loser.

I wish I could get another one but I'm poor...

I'd get another one for parts and I will get another one once my Talon is done, but I dont think I'd ever have two projects at once. What kind are you getting thursday?

Yeah two different projects at once is kind of a pain in the ass, but one needs to be completed to fund the other one so I just have to deal with it.

There are actually two that I'm lookin at right now that are at salvage auctions. We have a dealers license so we go to the insurance auctions and sometimes get some really good deals on some pretty sweet cars. There's a 98 gst that was hit in the back and must have rear-ended the car in front of him too becaues both the front and back are kinda messed up but not too bad so that one might go for a little more than I really wanna pay. Otherwise there is a 96 GS that I might pick up that was actually rolled over (yeah, someone rolled an Eclipse) but it's not in that bad of shape for being a rollover. All I would want out of the GS is the front clip so I don't care if it's really banged up on the outside.

I'm still contemplating on whether to put a 4g63 in my 420a being as I need to replace everything anyways (wiring, motor, etc from a damn fire) or to just toss in another 420a and sell it. I have a feeling if I do the swap though, I'd be putting on more than just stocker parts (big 16G, supporting fuel mods, etc. The usual upgrade path)

I have a problem with my 95 eagle talon. the engine was having problems so i bought a new one. i think its newer than my car is but i seem to have a problem with my starter. does any one know if the starter changed from 95 to 99. any advice will help so i dont have to rip out the engine again and change the flywheel
