I have a 99 Contour SVT that up and died last week. The check engine light has been on for about a month but I figured it was the O2 sensor. Oops, I may have been mistaken. Anyway, I was driving about 25 mph when I lost power. When I tried to restart the vehicle it acted like it was going to turn over but, no dice. The car has about 90000 on it. Could this be the timing belt?

could be numerous things. We need more symptoms though. Check out contour.org. You might find something helpful there. Hopefully you didnt spin a bearing.

Update 6/13/2006
Okay, here is some more info. I ran a code scanner and two codes were stored. One, P0133 O2 Sensor CKT Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1) - I assume this is one of the O2 sensors (Not the problem). Two P1131, Manufacturer Controlled Fuel and Air Metering - This I believe to be the problem. The fuel system has pressure. I removed the air filter and gave the car a shot of ether and it fired right up (as long as it had ether). So is the problem with the fuel injectors?
