I just bought a 2nd gen Eclipse Talon DSM 4g63 turbo RRE lightened flywheel and I was wondering what the difference was or what differnce it would make on my car comparedto the stock one

less rotating mass...has its pros and cons, but if you've already got it, might as well use it

Quicker revving and more power (I heard something like 20hp freed up? Not sure). However, theres less rotational inertia to keep RPMs up... like when you rev up in 1st with the clutch in and dump it.

I use fidanza aluminum flywheels($210 shipped off of ebay). They are about 8.5lbs. I havn't noticed any drivability issues with them, but you do need to rev higher when you launch. ;)

Sweet. cuz my old one is pretty rusted from my tranny sitting outta my car and i didnt wanna get it machined for the same price as a better one. Are they hard to take off or put on?

If the tranny is already out then it wont be a problem at all. Just make sure you torque the flywheel bolts back down.
