the D16A1 is from the integra, not the civic. I'm pretty sure it's also a dohc and will not fit any other d series sohc motor. The 88-91 civic/crx SI models came with the d16A6 not A1.

ok,
I guess your right & I'm wroung,
but I did find a buch of sites of ppl saying d16a1 sohc...113 hp
but searching on ebay they was dohc's
ppl might of been mixing them up just as I did, with the d16a6
anyways,
its not worth the trouble/hassel of putting on a dohc head on an sohc block,
I'll get you a link to that build up.

Actually yeah, they are right..I thought it was an a6, I have seen it myself, the A1 was in an 88 teg in a junkyard Isaw..so it will not fit.

i think he means it will be too much work to do it. also not worth it the d16a1 is garbage. better off with a mini me swap or a d16a6 will even be better then the a1.

i have something in store for this idea thats why i want to know im not worried about compression ratio or anything like that cause i have all new everything for the upper and lower half of the motor. besides i have seen a A1 smoke gsr's all day long and its kinda funny
2poor2tune
05-25-2006, 01:29 AM
are these built gsr's? and are these a1's built. stock for stock gsr smokes a1's probly in anycar. any honda anyway. and in the end even (the end meaning them both being built) the gsr would still be on top. vtec what dont you get j/k not trying to be a dick sorry

they were both mildly built

i dont get how the 170-180hp or somthing like that(stock) motor can keep up with a 125-130hp unless the 130hp one was in the lighter car. i mean like i crx. and the gsr is in the 94+ tegs. is that how it was?
