hey, anyone here taken off the resonator box on their stock intake? if so, how did you do it, and does the car sound better? i can see the resonator box, but i don't see any way of getting at it besides dismantling the whole air cleaner and piping and taking out the battery. is this the only way? i've also contemplated taking out that long piece of tubing that snakes across the front of the engine bay from the airbox, and just let the engine get air from down behind the bumper by the battery. anyone tampered at all with their factory air intake?

I've never tampered with it, I just ripped it out - he he. We usually just replace the whole thing cause the stock filter blocks too much air. Also, Logon to yahoo messenger so I can chat with you.

We tore the front tube off of the intake on my friends girlfriends car. We just had it so it would suck air from around the battery, since it's cooler over there than in front of the headers.

HAHA sawzall. You must remove the front bumper to remove the box properly. Bumper R/R aint that hard. Removing the stock intake tube will make a slight difference. More noise than performance

I took mine out all you have to do is take off the plastic cover under the bumper and unbolt anything that restricts it. it will pull right out from the bottom.

Is the way to go and it's cheap....$100...

I'm running the competition style with the cone right behind the Air Dam. I took out that huge fawking box that didn't seem to serve a purpose. Remove 2 screws and it's out. You need to turn the wheel and pull the plastic from underneath backwards to get in there. It's a pain but 'jew can do iiittt'

I cut a hole in the Air Dam and all that nice air flows right through....
So does the water, so I have to be careful when it rains. As far as the plastic piece on the radiator, I tryed to unscrew it, but it was all rusted up, so I just pulled it off....took 2 seconds...

I'll post a pic tomorrow....

The air ram is blurry but the air filter is slanted to the side behind that hole and the air goes right in.

I might cut a bigger hole...

But ever since I took out the box, and put the additional pipe going down there's a huge difference...

Dude, that's very inventive...however, seems like you'd be getting more warm air from the engine bay like that....

Run a pipe from your intake manifold to the bumper and you'll feel the difference, trust me.....nice COOL air...

Almost as cool as this dude puffin a L...
