brake controller installation 97 LS

I have installed the 7 pin round trailer plug into the pigtail wires that were hiding in the rear. had a couple left over a light guage white book says "aux"? and the heavy guage red " 12v charge" ? Not sure what I do with those but the trailer lights are all working nice when I plug in. I need to install the brake controller and was wondering if I should have power at the blue wire at the rear when I hit the brakes or do I tie into it up front under the dash when I mount the controller?

I'd appreciate any advice on this one, haven't seen anything on the forum about it.

thanks for the link overboard that helps alot, but I'm still not sure how to get the blue brake wire to connect to the controller. Does anyone know if it is up under the dash or anything?
