Halogen replacement woes - 98 CRV

One light went out a few weeks ago. Now they are both out.
High beams work, but not regular.

I got two new Sylvania 9003 bulbs. So far, so good.

I changed the passenger side one and it worked.

I tried for 20 minutes to remove the electrical connection on the driver side light and only bruised and sore fingers. There is more stuff in the way on this side and it hard to grip. :banghead: . Love that icon.

Any suggestions?

The next day the passenger side light does not work at all. Neither high beam or regular. Did I cause a problem by having one good and one bad bulb.

Any help appreciated.

I solved the problem. Will post here in case it helps another mechanically inept person.

I partially unwrapped (folded back) the rubber seal. This let me grip the connection (through the seal) more firmly and I finally separated it from the bulb.

The passenger side was not working because the connection was loose.
