ive installed a couple of pairs of these and they look good, but you lose alot of foot room and also i duno how the parking brake will work becasue this will block that.

just see if you can find new door panels , any tahoe suburban silverado should work. the escalade should to i think. or you could just install the 61/2 components and cut a hole for the tweeter and flush mount it in the door.

for the door panels i would check a junk yard, and to flush mount the tweeters you will have to remove the door panels and find a spot that is flat and has some room behind it and then get a hole saw bit and put in a drill and drill the hole the size of the tweeter and then install it.

so then they are the same type of door panal you have right?? i got to do some hunting around the problem I have is that my truck has manual doors and windows so the switch controls would not be hooked up thats why i asked from the begining if i can get the part of the door panel i need and swap the rest of the pieces i could be wrong

you might be able to get manual doors, but i duno the other doors speaker grill might be in the way for the crank to work and the switch panels will have switches unless you can find replacement ones.

i didnt ever hear about bending anything. i put some in and the people just didnt use the brake anymore and for me i didnt like the lost room, but i am also 6'5" so i need more room than most.

I say just upgrade your 6 1/2 and cut out the holes for the tweeters like sportin83 said. Cheapest and easiest way :icon16:

i dont know of any off top of my head without searching around. if you can work with wood and fiberglass you could build some kickpanels. i found this link 1 time and has a pretty basic step by step process. http://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/kickpanels/index.htmhttp://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/kickpanels/index.htm

I figured I'd chime in. I've done some work with fiberglass, and it takes a few tries to get it right. Honestly If I were you I would just upgrade the speakers in your doors. Get a good set of component speakers and an amp and you'll be all set. The easiest thing to do is mount the tweet in the door (its supposed to be close to the woofer) and maybe make an MDF ring to hold the speaker. This will allow the speaker to play with nothing blocking the sound path.

Dude; if you're gonna go to a junkyard to get new panels; might as well gut the door and upgrade to power windows. You should be able to take everything you need from the junkyard; right?
All you will have to do is get power to the windows and the rest should be self contained in the door.
I did this on a 2000 ranger for my dad. It was the better part of a saturday at the junkyard; and just a sunday morning to install since I already knew how it went together.
