I recently bought a 1994 Altima GLE. Are there scan tools for these vehicles? If so, any recommendations? I have an Actron 9135 for other OBDII cars.

Thanks,
Ray

I dont know about a scan tool but I know the computer is behind the center console by the gas pedal. Remove the cover and there you will find it. On the computer is a knob to turn to run the self diagonstic. Turn it to the right all the way and wait a few secs and turn it back to the left to where the line is that says self diagonistic. To erase the code I believe you have to turn it all the way to the right then all the way to the left quickly. Hope this helps

Thank you. I'll try it. I'm having Speedo/Odo/HUD issues. Car seems to run fine but display will go out and speedo to zero. It's an automatic. I've read that there is a VSS that can cause such symptoms. Car has 27K miles but sat dormant for nearly 6 years.

Thanks again

Your problem is quite likely a bad HUD instrument cluster.

Did the computer. I got 5 slow and 5 fast which means everything is OK. Speedo and HUD have yet to fail again. Hope cluster behaves, not with my luck.

Thanks,
Ray
