Here's the SW20 MR2 i've been building for a while. This is after one coat of paint. Disaster struck this morning when the second coat ran.. :(
Oh well.. out comes the sandpaper
The GT wing has yet to be added and so are the 18 inchers
Needs a lowering job for that road-scraping look as well.
Trying to get the look of a GT road car.
Comments, guys??

Looks great so far. Nifty idea with the bottle as a spraying stand. I used toilet paper rolls in ye olde days.

Nice SW, did you make that front bumper yourself?

Daryl

I opened out the front bumper, and made the two upright bits inside the air intake from sheet styrene. The chin spoiler is actually made from the rear spoiler. I chopped off the two ends, sanded them to shape and used tamiya putty to mold them into the body. Side skirts are sheet styrene and putty. I also extended the rear bumper downwards a little to make the rear look lower.

Oh.. and it's painted tamiya italian red

That front kit is hot !!!...excellant looking work on it.

For the seats...it would look better to go with a Matt finish instead of a gloss.

PMan: I know  Sadly... I'm a little too broke to afford too many different kinds of paint :( Just have to make do with what i have until i can afford more

I would suggest a satin finish if you are trying to get the look of leather seats which i assume is what u are doing?

I'm always torn about the black trim. In your case, I think I would leave it off...

Well... here's some progress pics of my MR2 after gaining some Blitz 03 18 inchers and a lowering job. Hasn't been polished and detailed yet. There's a pic of the decal that I might use for the side trim. Any inputs??

That looks great, man. Nice rollers, too.

You're thinking maybe a pinstripe down the red? I'd vote 'no.' Leave that gorgeous pure red devil alone!!!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys :)
The model wasn't really that shiny in real life... but funky lighting and a not-so-good digicam helps fake it :evillaugh :evillaugh
Anyway, I polished the car yesterday with good results and it's nice and shiny now. Major balls-up however as I cracked the paintwork on the windsheild frame because the plastic there is really flimsy and I pressed too hard. Wot a schoolboy mistake to make. Time for some touch up :( :(
