i have a question, i've only ran the 1/8th mile here, at 9.74 and i was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to estimate my 1/4 mile time from that, or do you need horsepower and torque figurest to figure it?

Greetings from NZ :)
I own a 1994 Si Vtec Prelude, with a Nakayama air intake, and a reasonably free flowing exhaust system (2.25" diamater). Bridgestone GGrid II's on the front.
My best run to date is a 14.878 @ 97.4 mph (156.77 kmh) (with full trim). Based on my trap speeds, I believe I could do a 14.4 or so, but only if I can get better traction.
When my car was stock (minus the cat), I managed to pull off a 15.06 @ 94.8 mph (152.6 kmh).
As others have already proven - stock preludes (in the 4th gen and 5th gen) can do a 15.1 as stock. Just the conditions have to be right! For example : I took my car to the drags about 4 weeks ago, the track was unprepped, and slightly dampm, and a strong headwind - so the best time I did for the day was a miserable 15.51, and the worst was a 16.01. But two weeks later I went to the same strip again, but better conditions. I managed to do the 14.878, a 14.9something, a 15.01, and a 15.1. The worst being a 15.6 on the day.
P.S. Some of you guys have got some great times :).

I have not been doing alot much besides pumping a 14 second flat at the quartermile. With my new springs setup (I have the nose 15mm lower than the rear) plus a bit of a change with the exhaust and headers. I am fabricating a pulley for more boost under vtec so I hope to be spinning all the way to a sub 14 shortley. :flash:

Hey guys :D
just here to put in my time with a 2k1 Lude with cai, dc headers, and a tanabe cat back im pulling in a 14.9 @ 94.2 mph and thats with stock wheels and skunks 2 inch in the front and 1 3/4 inch drop in the rear. Not too bad i guess. To anyone else is that a good run time or am i out of the loop...?

They are good the Gtecs but they are only rough. We tested two at the track once and they are close but not spot on. Sometimes with a big launch they are a bit out. For example, a 14secs on the strip was a 13.9 , a 13.5 was a 13.2 ( a fair bit off ). For horse power well close 200hp was 205hp. You would never tune a car with one but for bolt on mods they can be an effective tool. The readings also seem to vary slightly in different types of car even though the power and 1/4 mile times might be the same. I give them the fums up for fun. The best I have personally gotten in the lude is 13.7 blown and 14.3 nat aspi :flash:

all those numbers 15.1, 15.2 , 15.9 all depend on a driver , if a driver is well skilled, for example my 89 lude is 2.0 with 135 hp and i raced with my best friend who has eagle talon 95 which is 140 and he wins for just half a car , enven tho my car is older and has more miles and just a slight difference in hp it all depends on a driver , if a driver knows his car and can push it to its limits then it's posible to get those No.

I drive a '93 prelude si h23a with a little over 100k miles. The car is virtually stock, on 15 inch rims which weigh a little over 19lbs apiece. I've disconnected the secondary intake vacuum to keep the valves open, and I've bypassed the cold start coolant hoses. The ignition timing is advanced a bit, also, and I run on 93 octane gas. Before this run, I was consistently running 15.3-15.6. After this run, the track that I go to stopped properly maintaining the surface, and I returned 3 more times last year, to find out that I was actually getting better traction on the street than on the strip. They are resurfacing the track right now, and it reopens in a few days, I'm hoping I can go as soon as they open it, and get a run in the colder weather. Last, IMHO, driver error makes up to 1.3 seconds difference in 1/4 mile times. For a long time, I couldn't pull lower than a 16 flat out of my car. Now, I find myself beating VTEC preludes, when they have a 30 hp advantage. If i go back to the track soon, I'll hopefully be posting better times.

i have a h23 auto, with a level ten rebuild kit in it (makes it shift harder) and i had a 60ft of a 2.2 then the some thing terible went wrong would not shift into the next gear, welded the clutches. Now that she is back on the road i find my self spanking 5gs out of the hole but the track opens up at the end of the month so who knows what she will run this time.

I was wondering if these accelometers (or whatever) are actually acurate, because im considering purchasing... they seam very convincing, but im unsure on if they're actually good. The gtechs u can get off ebay for less than 50$.. and te vectors run about 130-180....
anyone every buy one...
good or bad invest?
accurate?
