I recently went to Jiffy Lube to get an oil change and I knew from last time they told me to get replacement fuel filter.Well when they went to take off the old one, they told me it was rusted on. Do I really need to replace this part ever 15,000 miles? My car is a 1994:banghead:

No 15k is unecessary, 30k is more in line.

Buy a can of PB Blast and let them use it next time. It will come off or should. Mine was rusted on and Jiffy Lube rounded my end off on the fuel line.:banghead: I've changed it myself the last few times and put just a tiny, tiny bit of anti-seize on it to make it easier on me next time. You may want to look into a whole fuel line from the filter end to the fuel rail.

15k isn't really necessary. They only tell you the service intervals under SERVERE CONDITIONS.

25k at the earliest and 30k at the latest would be fine.

Just make sure it doesn't strain the pump if it hasn't been done in a long time. I strained mine and the pump went out soon after the filter was replaced. It was extremely noisy before its death.

I would like to change out my fuel filter my self. I just do not know where it is. I have a 96 regal custom 3.8L. I have looked and just can not find it.
