Clutch or Tranmison

Ok If anyone knows this please help before i take it to the damn dealer ship.. I have a 2002 Eclipse manual. An every time i put it in first gear an start to go it wont move. It wont move unless i get it up to almost 4,000 rpms. So my question issss is this a clutch problem or are we looken at a tranmison problem.. thanks an sorry my spelling sucks-

You should post questions on a 2000+ Eclipse in the 2000+ Eclipse forum, just so you know. And yes, sounds like a clutch to me.

Guys this is the wrong forum, but it's a generalized question, it should apply to a number of different cars. And I agree with Thor, sounds like a clutch.
Eclipseboy, have you tried taking it to a shop before the dealership (aka devil, stealership, etc)? I would try taking it to a shop you trust before the devil. The devil will charge you like $200000000000000000000 versus a tiny fraction of that for bringing it to a shop.
