car quit while driving!

MY car quit on me while driving...1990 passat 2.0l. I was driving and the car started to spuder. I was able to get home with light throttle ( couldnt rev the engine high). I went to start it again and nothing. I have sparks, I have gaz. This is very confusion.! Anybody might know what is the problem??
