Thieft System Question..

Hi .. I got a 97 Cavailer z-24 .. the car will not start .. The Alarm under the dash was unplugged so i deceided to plug it in and give it a crank a see what happens .. When i plugged the alarm in and turned the key on it made the turn signals turn off and on .. could the thief system be the reason the car will not start?

The car wouldn't start before or after you plugged the alarm in? Could be a million things.

i just bought the car and it didnt start since i got it (just got it) .. i been seeing alot of things about the thieft system stoppin the car from starting and it looks like it is on in this car.. so i thought id start here 1st .. is there anyway to reset it? and if so the alarm under the dash has to be plugged in while doing it right? id like to try to reset the thief system 1st and see what happens then go from there .. any1 know how to do a reset? thanx in advance

a hammer will usually reset the alarm system...lol

I am having a similar problem only my car will start and run for 1/2 a sec then shuts down. Theft light is on and blinks when its running for that 1/2 sec. If anyone knows how to reset or disable this let me know.
