Front Axle Help Please

I have a 98 eclipse GS N/T the 420a motor and my front right axle boot blow up and grease is every where and the transmission seal is leaking to. So does the axle just pull right out of the transmission or do you have to have everything lined up perfect for it to come out? Is this a to big of a job to do by yourself or should i just take it to the mechanics?
