Digital Speedometer

Hey All,

I started up the caprice today and was driving down to the post office and noticed that the digital speedometer was not working. I dont think its a fuse because the thing is still lit up and registering 0 mph. The problem is that it stays at 0 mph it doesnt register that im in motion and what speed im going. Any ideas on what might be the problem or how to fix it??? Any help would be aprreciated.

Where is that located??? I dont have any of the manuals or anything and really dont want to tear the underdash and dash apart searching for it. Thanks

There should be no speedo cable. There is a VSS mounted to the tailshaft of the trans, and wire running to a buffer module in the dash.

What year are we talking about, anyway? '94? '95?

Sorry didnt realize that I didnt specify the year. It is a 1993 chevy caprice that was a former police vehicle.
