lately my car has been like hicuping while i am driving, it feels like its going to stall. and did once. i know nothing about cars and was wondering if anyone had any ideas what this could be.

Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, with the limited details, it will be hard to help much. Can you post more details such as what you wer doing when the car stalled - approaching a stop, idling on a cold engine, accelerating aggressively, etc? Have you ever performed a tune up or at least checked the spark plugs and wires recently? Which engine does your car have? Have you tried running fuel injector cleaner with a tank of fuel?
You'll also want to check the condition of the vacuum lines to make sure they are all pliable and not cracked.
