flashing air bag light

I have a mustang gt 1996,and my air bag light flash the code 53.I know it's mean internal diagnostic monitor fault,but what does it mean? I would like to know how can i reset the light?

I think its saying that you have a bad sensor for the air bag. So it might not go off on impact. Try unpluging the battery for about 5 minutes. This will reset the computer and could make it forget about the trouble code.

I did unplugged the bat for about 12 hours! but the air bag light still on.
