halo- i have a 94 civic hatch with a 94 jdm b18c and i just started to get an idle problem. after coming to a stop, the idle goes up to around 1300rpm, then falls to 1100rpm, then repeats. its very annoying - someone told me its either my idle air control valve or i just need my coolant flushed. what do you think?

check the map sensor too. when i took my intake manifold off of my civic i tried assembling it back together drunk and ended up putting the throttle body gasket on backwards blocking the hole to the map sensor. well needless to say it made the cars idle jump then drop, jump then drop, jump then drop in probably i.5 second intervals. after i sobered up i fugured out what i had done and th e map sensor was the only logical thing that could have been the problem since the rest of the sensors ports werent obstructed. try pulling the clips for each sensor while the car is running, if you pull a clip and it doesnt change every much i think you have isolated your problem. or you could do it the right way and check the voltage like the helms manual says but thats no fun now isnt it?

U know thats the same shit that i'm goin through rite now. When i start my car it idles at like 1500 but then when it warms up it idles normal. Sometimes it idles funny but i've been told it could be my IAC valve. Supposedly u can get those at honda for like 50 bucks?

hey i finally got my car fixed. i still hate it, but it's fixed haha. the problem was with the fast idle thermo valve (on the throttle body, near the iac) - at first the tech said i might need a new one - but then he dismantled it, adjusted some kind of plunger-thing, and it fixed it.
