i own a 92 tsi awd

well ive been posting alot lately, cause im trying to fix alot of problems.

first i bought this car as a project, i put a clutch in it and drove it for a while and all that but it was time for some serious fixing. i bought a brand new head, arp head studs a hks head gasket, a really nice engine gasket kit, a new return line, stainless oil feed line. timing belt kit, pistons rods the whole 9 damn yards.

now i get everything cleaned and bored and everything put it all back together torque every bolt to spec and everything. i fired it up for the first time yesterday and it ran good idled at like 800rpms and all that sounded good other than the normal lifter tick(yes i didnt upgrade yet). when i took it for a drive it ran shitty which i thought was the RFL i had on it. so i took it off and put my stock 1g back on and it ran better driving wise but still didnt seem to be good like it should be.

it doesnt feel like its runing 11lbs at all it feels like 3 at the most i feel no pull at all like it should. everything is new i checked all the clamps and hoses everything is good i cant find any leaks or anything. My boost gauge reads 11 lbs when i boost and my vaccum seems low at idle its only 12 or 13 which i thought it should be more.

now im sorry for the long boring post but im trying to get all my problems out there for any help or ideas. now i had to ghetto wire my fans cause i cant find anything wrong with them ive replaced everything. now my point on that is when i turn on my fans my idle drops like the load is too much. do you think my alternator is at fault cause its old and stuff but it keeps my battery charged but if i turn on anything the fans my lights it bogs my idle down.

thanks ahead of time and hope i can get ideas to help me fix these problems i really dont want to pay someone an outrageous price to fix it for me

Did you do a boost leak test? I thought i heard something about the rings not seating properly during engine break in which results in lower compression. I'm assuming you're still breaking in the motor?

yea im still breaking it in ive barely put any time or mileage on it yet. i havent done a boost leak test the rain out here still hasnt stopped. i got a 3" gm maf sensor and im going to order the translator later today so i can run a blowthrough and vent my rfl

12-13 vac at idle is to high i ran ~20 and i think 18-21 is normal. I bet it's a boost leak.

Be sure to change the oil a lot. Search and you shall find the many different opinions on break ins.

yea i figured that it was a boost leak like usuall, when it stops raining ill get my ass out there and do a leak down test and see what i can find.

breaking in your stroker isnt fun im freaking out about everything as you can tell. im worried about my vaccum not being high enough being im only running 12-13 when im just sitting there idling but im runing like 21 driving around when im not on the throttle. my electrical system dies down everytime i put a load on it and that bothers me
im just freaking out man. hell today i seen a decent civic all stock 5spd and i almost bought it.

Soungs like you have another problem witht he fan. Check the relays on the passanger side under the hood.

But aside from the lack of boost does the car run fine?

Well you can test the alternator by turning the car on and removing the leads of the battery. If the car stays running at idle your alternator is probably good. I mean are your lights dim or anything else?

yea the lights inside and out dim but it keeps the battery charged enough to start the car every time. i was thinking the battery could have a bad cell in it also

might want to run a shit turbo instead of the 16g i heard that the turbo gets all the crap left over from the rebuild.
