Electrical problems 91 Buick LeSabre

This car started off being hard to start. Would have to try several times before it would start. Then I started noticing when I got in the car in the mornings, before I turned the key on, with the door open, the red lights in the dash, and the turn indicator lights, and the bright light indicator would be glowing. A couple of times I lost all power when the car was running, but it started right back. This morning when I got in the car all the warning lights were on as usually but none of the lights on the car would come on, and the car would not start even though it turns over good.

I have replaced the ignition switch, did not change a thing.

I hope someone has a suggestion to what maybe wrong. My mechanic does not know. He thinks it may be a bad ground or a feedback somewhere.

Check all the usual suspects. Firstly, is it getting fuel (check fuel pressure). Second, is it getting spark (you can manually see if a spark plug wire has spark using a bolt or screwdriver put down to the metal connect, then propped NEAR a ground (but not touching the ground). Prop the wire, then WITHOUT TOUCHING THE SPARK PLUG WIRE crank the engine. If you see a spark jumping between the metal of the bolt or screwdriver and engine ground, then you have spark. Third, have you checked the codes? This is actually the first thing I would do. Get a paper clip or wire and jump spots A and B in your underdash diagnostics electrical connector (it is just below the dash directly beneath the steering column.). With the spot jumped, put your key in the ignition, and turn the key to the RUN position (do NOT move the key to the START position with the jumper in place). Look at your check engine light. It will flash once, then twice (three times). This means "this is your code system checking in." After this any codes stored will also flash. X number of flashes for the first digit, and X number of flashes for the second digit. While they are flashing, write them down. Report back what you find.

I have been looking for the problem with my car for over a month. My mechanic said he thought it was a bad ground somewhere. I did not think so because my starter would turn over good. Shows what I know. I got home this afternoon and decided I would check somewhere for a bad ground. I took some jumper cables and hooked up the postive post on the battery and touched the other end to the body and nothing happen. My ground wire going to the body had become loose and corroded and would not pass any current to the body. Took about 10 min. to fix once I found the problem.
