Hey all;
As most of you know I'm rebuilding a head :naughty: . 2 questions. They make different head gaskets that raise and lower compression, right? If so, do you think it would worth it to raise the compression on my 420a? Or should I build the bottom end too, then once I drop that in, then raise compression? I will eventually build up a bottom end, but not for a long time yet (unless I hit some kinda jackpot :screwy: ). Opinions please. Oh, and remember my rule... no turbo :nono:

I dont know if I would use HGs to change compression, you could get the head shaved a little bit to raise the compression, or just wait until you build the bottom end. Its really up to you

Well, thicker head gaskets will lower compression, but the most you could lower by headgasket is by like .2 IIRC. You chould shave the head, but I doubt you'd be able to raise it much that way. Bottom end is basically it for rasing compression.

If you rebuild the bottom end go for a stroker kit, I saw an ad for 420a stroker kits in sport compact.
