So Far So Good

Hi All,
The Escape is doing fine. It's an XLT trim level. I guess the only thing that I noticed is that the front end is a little heavy feeling, the front brakes ware a lot, and from the axle back the exhaust is mild metal. These are all details.
I'm happy with the vehicle it just has the domestic engineering thing. Why make the exhaust SS to the axle then put a cheap mild metal muffle axle back. Hmmm can you say engineered replacement part. Domestics do that all the time and it bothers me. I wonder what else is engineered like that on the Escape.
Regards,
Spotovi

Hi Everyone,
Update.
I enjoy driving the Escape, it handles well, it looks nice, and it has good power, but I feel like it can blow at anytime. I feel embarrased to be a North American. Ford is truly a nickle and dime company. Is capitalizm really the way to go. Maybe if you replace greed and maxium profit with responsiblity and good work. Don't they learn anything from Japan? Anyway enough of my ranting here's the update. :-)
Everything under warranty still, thank the divine.
1. Daytime running lights not working fixed first time.
2. Daytime running lights not working fixed second time (Functioned 1 day)
3. Daytime time running lights repaired :-)
4. The dealer must of got mad at me or something. I've always been professional with them. Anyway the rear diff. bolt the one with the little check valve went missing when I got home from the third daytime running light repair. The oil was on my drive way. I returned it to the dealer and within minutes they replaced it. No questioned asked. I never return there and just stayed silent. No sense trying to change that place. I changed dealers now, and my present dealer is wonderful.
5. Front windows creek, repaired but not fixed. The dealer messed up the molding a little bit so I figure that's enough of that and I'll live with this one.
6. Master cylinder leaking- repaired
7. Fuel guage stopped working, replaced fuel pump
8. Fuel guage still not working, fixed ground wire, told me sorry the fuel pump didn't have to be changed.
9. OEMII light came on- software upgade I was told???
10. Air bag light- Connector under seat cleaned. Low resistance wires are used and very sensitive, connector gets dirty. Bad/Cheap engineering.
11. Coolent light on- added 50/50- repaired
12. Brake Cable to loose to work- I'll repair that when the warrenty is up, mechanics are no good with console disassembly.
I've heard comments like what do you want for $30000 CDN. I can understand that, and I agree to a point but it should function a little better than this. I own a $17000 CDN (NEW) 1997 Acura and I've been to a dealer for a miss fire in piston one, my fault I think because I fumbled with the key when I started the engine once when I first bought the car, and I went in for a timing belt/water pump replacement. That's normal stuff right. The Escape is a 2002 and I've been to the dealer 10 times. I feel that I'm the R&D guy for Ford and I payed them for the job.
I posted this to get it off my back. I don't complain to Ford or the dealers. It falls on deaf ears. We are the ones to make the difference in the world, not companies. The time of campanies is over, it's the time of the individuals now. Good luck everyone.
Waiting for something else,
Spotovi
