My battery kept dieing the other day and I found that the alternator was not charging it so I had it tested at an auto parts store and found out its good. So then today I put it back on the car and made sure the plugs that go on it were 100% tight hoping it would charge the battery, but it still doesn't.
Ive heard of this problem before but I never found out what caused it or how to fix it or anything. Have you guys got any ideas on what I need to do?
Thanks
Eric

I assume that when you say you had it checked you are referring to the alternator. I would check the battery as well. Also, look carefully at the larger plug on the back of the alternator. They are a common-fail item and will eat up alternators. I went through several alternators before a parts store guy told me about the plug and they actually kept them in stock, if that is an indicator of anything. The one i replaced looked a little melted as best I can remember.

The battery could have a dead cell.

I love it when great minds think alike...shit just comes together better. LoL, good choice Tony.

I have seen a bad ground do the same thing, but I would still lean towards the battery.

It could be a batery, but i have also heard of an alternator being tested good for everything, but still not charge. That could be the plug on the back like they said. Try the easy stuff first and then go for the hard.
