Im looking for the RPM wire in a 98 civic EX, but I dont know which one it is. Where are the different locations to find this, under the hood and in the car? what is the color. Thanks

It's right next to the distributor but I don't exactly remember the color right now. I believe it was white or blue or blue and white :) Something like that. Get a cheap manual.

its the solid blue wire in the clip that plugs into the distributor. and you should have at least two holes going through the firewall into the cabin. find the rubber plug(s) in the firewall. unbend a coathanger jam it through and feed in the wire. they may not look like they go into the cabin but they do, just try proping with the coathanger.

ok, but I notice this wire is a little thicker than the regular wires. Should I still use a splicing-type connector or is there another way to connect it? Also, whats the best way to place the wire in the engine bay where it is non intrusive and safe from damage. How should I hold it, electrical tape or let it hang freely? Thanks again.

Use the service tach wire in the engine compartment.........driver's side in the same corner as the brake booster/master cylinder.

It's solid blue and is locked down by a rubber plug of sorts.

Look for it before you go splicing into the tach wire by the distributor.

Should be in that location on all 6G civics.

I was thinking of that but the wire there is blue with silver spots. Its all by its self, right?
