yea i know i need to shine it up a bit, but all those cosmetics are the least of my worries. It's a fairly new alternator too, so i'm not gonna get a new chrome one...yet.

Please. some engine degreaser and that alt will be fine. I am sure anyone that has worked on putting there engine together knows it is nearly unheard of to not get grime smudges on the parts while your putting them together.

polishing is a lot of time and work tho, i think i'm gonna paint it along with the accessory brackets, that should clean it up really nice, I need something to do this weekend anyway.

I like the valve/air cleaner covers. What do you still have to do with it?

just little stuff really, run fuel and trans lines, drop the distributor in, ecm chip burn, etc...

No, unfortunately it won't fit, I was hoping it would for the added sleeper effect. I'm in the market for a goodmark hood with 2" cowl.

that engine looks beautiful. very nice. wheels are my thing though, then again, it's not my car.

SS hood as in the 4th gen ram air one? In my opinion that thing looks ugly and should only be on 4th gens where it, only then, looks good

Id like it better if it wasnt cosmetic only but still the fact that its styling is more 4th gen so its smoother unlike 3rd gens who's styling is more 'blocky'

Why would it have to be just cosmetic? If you have a carb or tbi with a carb air cleaner I bet you would get a pretty nice ram air effect, wasn't the ss rated like 20 hp higher than a z28 mainly because of that hood?

Yeah they did but if you remember right the engines in the 4th gens are faar in the back as to the 3rd gens they are in the front.. so thats why the 3rd gen SS hoods are cosmetic at least from what I was told.

IF you have tpi then they sale the airbox for a third gen.

the ls1 SS was basically a z28 with cold air, a catback, shocks/springs, hood, spoiler and badges
