Well... eventually i want to get some power out of my galant. so in everyones opinion, is an intercooler sprayer effective ? why and why not? I'm only interested in spraying water, and not co2 or nitrous since nitrous is 2.50 a lb for domestics and 6 a pound for imports... :banghead:
the galant will see some 1/4 track days, and some street action, sprayer will likely be used in conjunction w/ a ported 14b, evo8 fmic, and meth/h2o injection. I just wanna get as much boost as possible out of it. Not sure on the fuel setup i'm going to go with, but it will include a walbro 255lph pump and at the minimum 660's maybe 720's or something...
thank you

I don't think it will hurt, it depends on what the efficiency is of the intercooler in the first place. Why does the cost change if the n02 is for imports or domestics?

i also don't know the efficiency of the evo8 fmic... but i imagine that it'll get hot eventually...
nitrous is more expensive b/c the guy is anti "rice" and the other place in town sold their setup.
not really a big deal, nitrous might get used later on the eclipse though... :screwy:

Go in and say it's for a different car.
I don't think a 14b would heat soak an evo8 fmic. But it will always help so it's probably worth it. I'd say make you own kit though because you can get the parts for a lot cheaper.

i was thinking of making it, but then again, i was thinking, finding an evo 8 fmic w/ a sprayer with it, may not be that difficult. i dont' kno how many evo owners keep their sprayers when they go bigger, but i can't imagine it is many.

Don't water spray on the intercooler...Just do water injection into one of the hardpipes.

Water injection > no2 sprayer
Probably cheaper too, coolingmist.com has a good selection

Yeah, I'd just get water injection. An aftermarket IC would be better than a Evo 8 one IMO. Also, you'd never need a 255 or 720's on a 14b, a 190 and 550's should do you fine.

yes, but i have to leave room for an upgrade later on... just not right now. if i'm changing them, i'd rather not change them again. a 255 would be better for a larger turbo setup in the future.
but thanks for the input guys.
i'll look into other intercooler options, the JDM GVR4 intercooler wouldn't be a bad option and is the largest that mitsu let out of the factory, so i'll be looking for one, when i get the $$.

keep in mind you'll need either dsmlink or aem with injectors that big....
timing advance is too much on an safc2 with anything over 550's

i wouldn't think of running anything else.
and my friend has an extra chip he doesn't need, so i get one for cheap :icon16:
