Squeal when making left (94 Cav)

Apparently my car is Republican. Front driver side squeals whenever I turn left. Turning right is not a problem. Whether brakes are applied or not, does not seem to change sound (reminds one of dirty brake pads). Has steadily become worse over past week. It now squeals if the steering wheel has to move left at all.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Squel like a belt? Could either be your belt or the power steering pump. If that the squeling your talking about

yeah it sounds sort of like a belt squeal. but shouldnt it be squealing if I turn in either direction if that was the case?

hey does the noise sound like a knocking noise cuz my cav had the same problem when the steering wheel was to the left it was the ball joint and tire rod that was shot on my drivers side tire...thought it was the strut at first but everything was fine there...

i was just about to say check the ball joint, thats what someone suggested to me when mine was making noise when i turn left..
i never checked it of course...
either it stopped or i play my music too loud..

Yeah, Mine just had a let-turning noise problem, cept it was a low rumble. So i changed out the bearings and it was fixed.
