Well on my way back home after watching a movie it was raining pretty hard so i decide to keep it slow around 55 and i come to a curve in the road and some guy was tailgating me with their brights on so i start to go 60 and he decides to pass me and when he was merging into the lane he just swerved into my lane and didnt even look back to see if he was clear i had to slam on the brakes and i guess the brakes locked up (damn abs light) and i do a 180 on the road and nearly hit a post under the underpass i swear i was less than 5 ft away from it i dont know how i avoided it but i'm sure glad i did. I just thought i would share that crazy story with you fellow lincoln owners just watch it for them stupid drivers. Have u had any bad experiences?

My father experienced a stupid driver in his 97 TC Exec three years ago, with an outcome less fortunate than yours.

My father lives in a neighborhood that is bordered by a four-lane, divided road (40 mph speed limit), which is a major traffic artery. The street he lives on parallels the expressway. There is a short connector street between his street and the expressway, the length of which equals the depth of the house lots that border the expressway (approximately 400 feet). There is a traffic light at this intersection on the expressway.

One Sunday morning, my father is leaving the neighborhood. As he turns onto the connector street, he sees that the traffic light is green for him. Without hesitation, he enters the intersection to make a left hand turn onto the expressway. As he enters the intersection, WHAM, he is T-Boned in the left front fender and driver door by a slow moving pick up truck. My father has the green light, the truck has the red light.

Here is what happened. It was a Sunday morning about 8:30 am. A sunny and clear summer day. There was little to no traffic on the expressway. The guy in the pick up is late for work. About a half mile back, he sees the light turn yellow, forcing him to slow down and stop for the red light. As he slows and approaches the intersection, all he sees is a pedestrian on a bicycle crossing the road and no vehicles waiting or attempting to cross the expressway. Frustrated at this inconvenience, he slows to about 10 mph as he approaches the intersection, then decides to blow through the light after the bicycle passed. He begins to accelerate as he enters the intersection and is surprised to suddenly meet my father.

Needless to say, this guy ends up being even later to work because of his impatience.

At the time of the accident, my father's Lincoln was only 6 years old, with 45,000 miles. The insurance company choose to repair the car because of the low milage. As a result, we now have a different driver's door and front fender on the car. The repair came back looking as good as new and we are not the least bit uncomfortable with the fact the car was once damaged and repaired. This car has performed just fine since the accident.

one time i was in my old 93 grand marquis and was on a two lane street where the speed limit is 35. i was driving my younger brother to his friend's house when i saw a town car that looked exactly like mine come around the corner going really fast. he slammed into a telephone poll, the rear end of the town car shot up into the air and nailed my marquis, i spun into on coming traffic and was hit head on by a ford bronco. the marquis was no more. the iddiot just took some perkasets and fell asleep at the wheel. however the ironic thing was in the accident was a ford, a lincoln, and a mercury.

I was heading to work after playing a game of hockey when an idiot tried to pull a left turn in front of me. I was heading east he was heading west, he tried to make a turn to head south. The light was full green. He wasn't on any drugs or anything. I don't know wtf was going on in his mind. He slammed into me and I bounced off of him and hit a Police van. I've never seen Police respond to an accident so fast in my life! Within minutes 8 squad cars showed up. The only damage to the Police van was a slightly bent bumper. Turned out later the kid has no insurance...

just yesterday coming down the PA turnpike, i was behind some van and my friend was following me in his intrepid and i had my town car. i was driving westbound when i started to see traffic build up out by harrisburg. so i began to slow down to probably about 45mph. all of the sudden this huge van in front of me slammed on her brakes so i slammed on mine. not knowing that my friends 2000 Intrepid DID NOT have ABS (which really confuses me), he locks up and hits the back of my car. the van in front of me took off on the shoulder to evade the accident. thankfully i got her license plate just in time. my town car isn't that bad at all...just some scratches on the bumper and a broken taillight. but my buddys intrepid was messed up in the front and the back. not good. i hope i never see that lady again in that van because she will definitly get a piece of my mind.
