Bare-metal "black chrome"

Hi all,

Just want to ask some questions here.

Has anyone use the bare-metal "black chrome" foil? What is it used for? (I mean parts that it is used for) because a friend of mine purchased the BMF black chrome to be used for his aircraft parts as he taught it will look like gun metal when applied but upon application it just looks like gloss black...

Is there something wrong here or is it supposed to be gloss black? If it is just a gloss black colour foil, my friend will totally be furious...

It's a satin/gloss black. Why anyone would expect it to be gunmetal is beyond me.

It's also garbage. It sticks to nothing. Paint is a much better option for black trimwork.

Well, since it is made by bare-metal, he assumes that the foil will be at least something like metallic black if not gun metal (I taught it looks like metallic black from the packaging). Since it is just a satin/gloss black, so I think it is pretty much useless for my friend to use it.

I've only used it for window trim on old cars but the black just wipes off when using a knife, a toothpick or your nail so how your supposed to apply it I don't know.
