time to restock

Ok.

It is time to restock some supplies. I would like to get as much of it as possible from the same place. I am currently using tamiya thin cement. I'm planning on either getting more Thin Cement and the regular plastic cement. Or giving Ambroid pro weld a try. Also, with my 69 Camaro getting close to needing paint for all of the engine goodies, I need to pick up some metalizers. Can anyone comment on the differences between the testors stuff and alclad? I have never used either one. Its also time that I pick up some BMF and learn to give that a go. Hmmmm, I'm not making much sense here am I. lol. Does anyone have any experience with somewhere that sells or a large portion of the above items?

Thanks
Russell

If you are up for a bit of a drive, head over to the HobbyTown USA in Arlington. It is located on Cooper just north of I-20. I've found them to have a really good selection of models, paints, and accessories.

That sucks.

I like Testors metalizers a lot. A lot of people do. I don't think their line even has duplicates with Alclad. They sell buffing and non buffing metalizers, and a sealer for the latter, but I've never really bothered to buff or seal any of it and it all looks pretty good to me. I'm sure someone else here has had more experience that they can share, but the short of it from me is that it's good stuff.

thanks will. I'll probably go with the testors. It will save me some money and I can get a wider variety.

John, will you have an online store? I think that would help increase your business QUITE a bit. If so, let me know! Will there be an AF discount??:grinyes: also, Have you checked out www.hobbylinc.com I'm not sure who you will be using as a supplier, but they sell large lots of things like paint and glue. I know they have a flat of ambroid for around 41 bucks I think.

Yes, I intend to have a large, thorough online store. Other than modelexpress, who's way out on the west coast, there aren't any really good online stores for CANADIAN modellers, so I intend to change that.

And I'm not 100% sure on the discount, but more than likely yes, AF members will receive a discount of some sort. Or possibly I'll just advertise sales only to our guys, things I like. :smokin:

sounds like a plan. If you are going to have a mailing list sign me up. r_d_butler@sbcglobal.net . I'll try and hold out until you get up and running!

Metalizer is good stuff. Much easier to use than Alclad- you don't have to prime anything! Really is ready to airbrush. Looks great, lots of colors- but it can be fragile. It rubs off easily if overhandled.

Don't worry, I'll be sure to announce the grand opening. Hopefully it'll come soon :p

thanks MPWR (your name has eluded me, sorry). I will be giving them a go. After seeing the work of metalizers in several threads, they are NEEDED on my 1/12th build.
