I bought some high temp paint to give my cast manifold a little better look and while spraying it I relized it was also ceramic coating. Well after I cured it and put it back on(diceded to so the manifold turbine housing and o2housing) I ran it for an hour or so and went home to check it and my underhood temps drop signafically like you could actually almost touch the manifold(get within a quarter inch without burning your hand) you could hold your hand on the valve cover and the coolant temp actually dropped a little. Its VHT header paint or something like that.

That stuff actually lowers the temp on parts in the engine bay?

The ceramic coating does actually reduce the temps. Thats how i got my longtubes done by Jet-hot. Excellent choice.

I just went out and checked some things and one thing I noticed was the valve cover was still so hot I couldnt hold my hand on it(sitting for an 30 minutes after driving) but the manifold was just slightly warm. Pics tomorrow

I painted my heat sheild with that stuff. Dont really remember the name brand. It was 2000 degree paint made by DEI, I think.

I've got a sick plan for some trick heat suppresant ideas for when my car becomes turbo. Don't really want to reveal my idea yet. lol

Probably an hour all together 15 minutes to paint and 45 minutes to cure. I think it turned out really nice and it helped out quite a bit
